The Arevon Applied Innovation Renewable Energy (AIRE) Competition is the signature program of collaboration between the CSUDH Innovation Incubator and Arevon.

Competition Objective
Students at CSUDH and local community colleges identify and pursue innovative renewable energy concepts in their community. It’s not about the best renewable energy startup technology. It’s about the best application of innovative technologies in the community for financial and social benefit.
Competition Format
Students will showcase and potentially pitch their concept on April 15, 2025 on the CSUDH campus.
Teams will be evaluated by a panel of community and industry leaders based upon four macro criteria:
Desirability - Does the community want it?
Feasibility - Does the technology exist to support the project?
Viability - Is there a positive business model to support the project?
Impact - Does it have a significant positive impact on the community?
April 15, 2025 Showcase
1. Showcase each team in a science-fair style arrangement.
2. Judges will roam around for approximately 3 hours to observe and interact with each competitor.
3. The showcase will also be open to the public.
4. The winners of the showcase will get to present in the Lightning Round

April 15, 2025 Finalist Lightning Round
- Six to eight finalists will be selected to present in the grand finale, Lightning Round
- Presenters will get 3 minutes to pitch their idea followed by 5 minutes of Q&A
- Judges will select the top three project as the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners.
Competition Timeline

January/February 2025 - Info sessions and workshops at CSUDH and community colleges
- March 2025 - Coaching sessions and application preparation
- April 1, 2025 - Initial applications due
- April 15, 2025 - Showcase and Grand Finale Competition
